Create Your Own Christmas Card
This craft is perfect for all ages and will take approximately 30 minutes.Â
What you need:Â
Plain White Card
Faber-Castell Pencil Castell 9000 HBÂ
Geo Triangle/Ruler
Christmas Card "Christmas Bauble"Â
- Textliner Metallic colours: Pearl Rose, Magnificent Blue, Glamorous Gold, Brilliant Ruby
- Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pen in line widths XS, S and B
 |
Step 1: Determine the centre of the sheet with a geo triangle in the preliminary drawing. For the Christmas ball, place the compass in the centre and draw a circle. Place eight auxiliary lines for the slogan in the centre of the circle. A small frame on the outside of the card highlights the image. |
Step 2: Sketch the details of the Christmas bauble (hanging, ribbon) with the Castell 9000 HB and place the slogan between the help lines. |
|
Step 3 Erase the pencil strokes of the writing with the Dust-Free so that the writing is only slightly visible. Use the thin tip of the Textliner to trace the words in the colours Pearl Rose, Magnificent Blue, Glamorous Gold and Brilliant Ruby. For the outline of the Christmas bauble, use Pearl Rose to draw dotted lines along the pencil line - this will show off the glitter to best advantage. |
|
Step 4: The font looks especially beautiful if the outlines of the letters are drawn with the Pitt Artist Pen XS, while the shadow line (= all right lines of the letter) is also slightly intensified. For extra glitter, the upper part of the letters can then be accentuated with the thin tip of the Textliner in the respective colour of the words. The "&" is written with light pressure on the tip of the Pitt Artist Brush Pen B with downward strokes to achieve a calligraphic effect. Use the Pitt Artist Pen XS at the end to trace all further details (suspension, ribbon, "at", ball). Set the frame of the card with the Pitt Artist Pen S. Small highlights, which are dabbed with the tip of the Textliner in all colours around the sphere, create an extra "sparkling effect". Finally, carefully erase all pencil lines that are still visible. |
Christmas Card "Christmas Tree"Â
- Textliner Metallic colours:Â Precious Green, Glamorous Gold, Glorious Red, Shimmering Purple, Shiny Silver
- Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pen in line widths XS, S, F and B
Step 1 Using a geo-triangle in the preliminary drawing, determine the centre of the card as well as the later position of the tree and the font size using four auxiliary lines. A small frame on the outside of the map highlights the image. |
|
 |
Step 2: For the tree, use the Castell 9000 HB to draw a sweeping pencil line within the tree sketch and place a small star on top. To place the writing in the centre, start with the L of "Fröhlich" on the centre line. |
Step 3: Erase the fir tree lines with the Dust-Free Eraser so that they are only slightly visible. Using Precious Green, first trace the pencil line with the fine tip, then repeat this process along the line with the wide tip. This makes the fir tree lively and glitter beautifully. Place the balls of Glorious Red along the bottom lines of the fir tree and use Glamorous Gold to colour the little star on the top of the tree. Paint the frame along the edges of the card with the wide tip of Shimmering Violet. |
|
Step 4: Accentuate the curves of the fir tree on the lower and right side with the Pitt Artist Pen XS. Also, frame the balls and the star with it. Highlight the purple border of the card with the Pitt Artist Pen S on the outside. Use the Pitt Artist Pen F for the word "Merry". Use the flexible brush tip of the Pitt Artist Pen B to create a calligraphic effect on the word "Christmas" by applying light pressure with downward strokes Use Shiny Silver to emphasize the shadow line of "Christmas" along the right side of the letters to create a great glittering highlight Finally, carefully erase the remaining pencil lines. |
