Sketching with Faber-Castell's Graphite Sketch Set
Learn how to sketch with Graphite Pencils!Â
Easily accessible and simple to learn and use, with the ability to achieve dark deep shades or gentle light details, graphite pencils are an aspiring sketch artist’s best drawing companion. Through all the media available for artists to draw and sketch, graphite pencils are an easy but dynamic tool to use to get started. Faber-Castell’s Graphite Sketch Set is a beginner drawing and sketching set that includes six pencils in six different degrees of lead hardness: 2H, HB, B, 2B, 4B, and 6B. The range of pencils allows artists to portray depth and detail with light to dark lead.
Every Goldfaber Graphite Pencil is manufactured in Indonesia through a Secural Bonding Process, also known as SV Bonding. SV Bonding is when the full length of the lead is glued to the wood casing of the pencil during production. This process strengthens the lead and prevents breakage; allowing for better sharpening and producing a fine point. SV Bonding is Faber-Castell trademarked.
The lead in the Goldfaber Graphite Pencils is created from finely ground graphite and clay to create a smooth consistent laydown. Quality is provided from the inside and out as our graphite pencils are designed in a hexagonal shape to prevent pencils from rolling off the surface the artist is creating on. Each degree of hardness can be found labeled on the pencil. The number in front of the letter indicates the intensity of the hardness (H) or softness (B) of the lead. The higher the number the softer or harder the pencil. Harder pencils make lighter marks and softer pencils make darker marks.
Six different degrees of hardness are included to provide the perfect sketch set of six different shades of grey. The pencil lead included varies from ultra-soft and extremely deep black to hard and silver grey. Harder pencils in the 2H to F range are ideal for preliminary sketches where the softer pencils add depth to your sketches by layering over the preliminary sketches.
Every product included in our sketch set is upheld to the same quality standard through production. The latex-free eraser included is dust-free, meaningless eraser waste as the residue rolls together. A quality sharpener is also included.
