World Colors Launch Party
The Faber-Castell Creativity Suite turned a little more youthful last month as we welcomed over a dozen children from our families for our World Colors Launch Party.
Art Educator Franz Spohn lead the children through creating a "Pop-Up Family Portrait" using our newly released World Colors Colored Pencils.
“Use your imagination and make yourself whatever you want to be. You get to make your own universe,” Spohn advised as he demonstrated how to shade the pencils to personalize skin tones.
Faber-Castell’s World Colors Colored Pencils encourages inclusivity and cultural diversity by incorporating six blendable skin tones with a traditional color set; the first color pencils of their kind.
The children were instructed to color a background for their characters. These included: birthday party celebrations, under the sea explorations, and images of their homes, to name a few.
The event was a huge success hosted by Playing & Learning and Creative Studio Brand Manager, Christa Trivisonno.
“Self-expression is at the heart of everything we do at Faber-Castell. To offer children a tool that not only lets them express themselves but also fosters a sense of inclusion is amazing,” stated Trivisonno. “That is really what World Colors is all about, kids can discover the beauty and complexity of their skin tone and create art that celebrates that. I'm really proud of this product so it was important that we host the kids for an afternoon of creative fun!"
